03.12.09: Faster than lightning - the new measuring system for flash lampsThe new test system for flash lamps from Instrument Systems is particularly suitable for the measurement of solar flashes, which are used in development and quality control of solar cells. A dedicated optical probe has been developed specifically for this purpose with a fast shutter for short light pulses of 4.5 ms. This special optical probe forms an ideal measuring station for flash lamps in conjunction with the highly precise CAS 140CT Array Spectrometer. The shutter permits a short period of the flash intensity to be analyzed. In order to guarantee reproducible results, the measurement system analyzes the flash lamp in its stable plateau phase with reference to the absolute value and spectral output. The results obtained reveal whether the solar simulator is in conformity with the requirements of DIN EN 60904-9. Up to three spectroradiometers from Instrument Systems can be linked up forming a cluster to cover a broad spectral range. It is thereby possible to record irradiance over a range of 200 to 2150 nm in just one measurement lasting a few milliseconds. Individual and repeated flashes can be measured at a consistent high level of precision. |
