09.07.19: Latest light measurement standards for OEM suppliers

In cooperation with the German Flat Panel Display Forum (DFF) the automotive industry regularly updates the “Display Specification for Automotive Application”, also known as “OEM Specification”. This is binding for OEM suppliers in the production of displays and indicator devices and often presents them with new technological challenges concerning economic, aesthetic and safety-related aspects in the development of their product range.

The new white paper from Instrument Systems provides an overview of the current regulatory requirements for defined pass-fail criteria for LCDs, including color, luminance homogeneity, gamma and pixel defects. With a focus on these four key display quality characteristics, a measurement solution has been presented with the LumiTop 4000 imaging colorimeter for end-of-line verification of the latest OEM requirements made on automotive interior displays. The spectrally optimized, high-resolution 2D camera enables fast and precise testing with a total production line testing time of less than 1s per display.

This challenging automotive application was already presented by Instrument Systems to numerous interested persons at LASER Munich 2019. In September 2019 we will be exhibiting our measurement solution with the LumiTop 4000 live at the Konica Minolta stand #65 at Vehicle Displays in Detroit.
