Due to its universal setup, the ISP 150 T/R can be quickly and easily reconfigured for different measurement geometries. With the replaceable gloss trap the user specifies whether or not the directed beam portion is to be taken into account in the measurement.
In the case of measurement geometries with diffuse lighting and for transmission, the supplied halogen light source is flanged directly onto the sphere. Illumination at 8° is, however, via an external light source of the LS 100 / LS 500 series connected by optical fiber to an optical collimator. The latter ensures a slightly convergent mapping of the incident beam on the sample.
Transmission measurement adapter TRA 100 determines the spectral transmission properties of a wide variety of materials at normal incidence. Typical applications are the measurement of optical filters and glasses.
The TRA 100 can be operated with all Instrument Systems spectrometers. The transmitted beam is coupled into the spectrometer via a multi-mode fiber with SMA connector or via a fiber bundle. Two versions are available for the light source: a compact halogen lamp firmly mounted on the TRA 100 with 10 Watt electric power or a fiber connector for an external light source of the Instrument Systems LS 100 / LS 500 series. In the versions for an external light source, the entire spectral range from 200–2200 nm can only be exploited with the corresponding lamp (e.g. LS 500 with deuterium and halogen lamp).
Reflectance measurement head RMH 45 from Instrument Systems is an easy-to-handle, low-cost measurement adapter for reflectance measurements. It can be used to determine targeted reflection in 45º/45º geometry and diffuse reflection or remission on sample surfaces in 45º/0º.
Prior to measurement a reflection standard is used to determine the base line, and subsequently the reflectance measurement head is placed on the sample. Depending on the desired measurement geometry, the optical fiber bundle for radiation coupling is connected to the spectrometer with the 0º or 45º connector of the RMH 45.
Two versions are available for illuminating the sample: a compact halogen lamp firmly mounted on the RMH 45 with 10 Watt power for measurements in the wavelength range 380–2200 nm. Alternatively, a version without a halogen lamp is also available, to which an external light source can be connected for the LS 100 / LS 500 series via optical fiber and PLG adapter. This version also permits measurements in the UV range.
