High-efficiency light measurement of heavy duty vehicle lamps up to 80 kg

The AMS 5000 is the largest of the Optronik Line of Type A far field goniophotometers from Instrument Systems. For many years it has set the benchmark for precision photometry in the field of automotive exterior lighting. The sturdy instrument with a broad travel range and highly dynamic drives is the best choice for standard-compliant measurement of large and heavy headlamps and signal lamps up to 80 kg.

The high-end goniophotometer delivers accurate and reliable measurement results for all photometric, spectroradiometric and colorimetric quantities. In conjunction with a DSP 200 photometer it measures pulse-width modulated light sources even in very short duty cycles. In the LightCon software the readings are shown in photometric test reports and can be further processed in simulation and raytracing programs.

With extensive accessories and further measuring instruments, e.g. the CAS series of spectroradiometers, the AMS 5000 can be upgraded to a perfectly synchronized complete system for a wide range of measurement tasks (AMS Goniometer system).

Precision, standard-compliance and efficiency are of paramount importance in automotive exterior applications. The principal use of the AMS 5000 is for type testing and homologation of vehicle headlights and signal lamps in accordance with current standards such as ECE, SAE, FMVSS108.

With a broad range of accessories and extensive LightCon software the AMS 5000 is also ideally suited to development-related measurements in the light channel.

The AMS 5000 has a horizontal sample stage for securing and connecting the sample. The control unit is located in a separate 19” instrument cabinet. The machine can be safeguarded by laser scanner, light barrier or pressure-sensitive safety mats.
